All world Gayatri Pariwar UK has had a presence in the city of Coventry for over 25 years and there are approximately 90 members located in Coventry and surrounding areas. The Coventry Pragya Mandal was started up during Vasant Panchmi in 1999, and a regular group of 15-20 members meet up each Thursday evening between 7pm-8.30pm to discuss the literature of our guru, perform Dip Yagya's, various Sanskars, and conduct Satsang with the guidance of Naliniben Pandya who is a long serving member of Gayatri Pariwar.
Over the years, we have had requests and have conducted our regular weekly activities at venues outside Coventry like Hinckley, Bedworth, Nuneaton and Leamington Spa so everyone has an opportunity to host it, and in turn their family friends can also attend.
Each year, we also aim to have larger gatherings and Dip/Kund Yagyas carried out by a team of Saints that come from Shatikunj, Haridwar, India, who normally stay in the UK for a few months and share their time between cities sharing their knowledge, and assisting with the work being carried out within the locality.
Coventry Gayatri Parivar would also like to proudly present the establishment of their own Youth Group run by Hansikaben Pandya and Surekhaben Solanki, serving youth from Coventry and surrounding areas. The youth group was trialled in February 2013 and over the months the number youths grew from 3 to 12. To mark the youth groups official establishment, the inauguration will take place as part of the Vasant Panchmi 2014 celebrations in Leicester.
These youth group sessions are currently held fortnightly at the Hindu Mandir, Stoney Stanton Rd, Coventry, with a view to make this into weekly sessions during 2014. Activities include; learning about various festivals & mantras, yoga & breathing exercises, singing, and fun activities like drawing, painting, and arts & crafts. The focus and key element of the youth group is to look at ways to help develop the youths, how to awaken their inner divine qualities that can guide them throughout their life to stay on the right path, and help overcome hurdles they may face through their life journey. A gradual development, consisting of a balance between science & spirituality will ensure a healthy and positive life.
