Bhagwati Kunj is situated in Croydon, South London. It was established on 9 April 2005. The beauty of Bhagwati Kunj is worth looking at and the foundation of such a sacred place was laid down by Adarniya ShailJiji and Shraddhey Dr. Pranav Pandya themselves and carried the ceremony of Pran Prathishtha.
There are several set of events that happen on a regular basis like Meditation followed by prayers.
On every Sunday of each month Gayatri Jap is performed with the kins (Parijans). Every month certain programs are organized like Deep Yagna along with Sangeet. Bespoke birthday and anniversary functions are also being organised here with the blessings of elders. Lots of Literature written by Gurudev and Mantra writing booklets is available at Bhagwati Kunj. It is open for all the parijans whenever they want to visit and access the writings.
Gayatri Pariwar Croydon also holds an annual Yagya. This Yagya program first started on 18 March 2003 and has been continuing being held once every year since. It attracts many people from different faiths and backgrounds. The Yagya ceremony was revised and translated in English for the benefit of our youth and Non Asians from the start so it can be easily understood and performed by those participating in the rituals.
The Croydon Yagya Program endeavours to introduce and deliver new concepts each year generating keen interest and better understanding of our vedic values through presentations and talks delivered by key personalities of Gayatri Pariwar. Where the origin and knowledge of the vast work done by our Param Pujya Gurudev Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharyaji remained dormant in many parts of London and surrounding areas, this program has raised awareness of Gayatri Consciousness in many and they are now members of this vast spiritual global family.
Over the years this program has been attended by key personalities of London Borough of Croydon including Mayor Cllr Janet Marshall, Mayor Cllr Badshah, MP Gavin Barwell, Cllr Vidhi Mohan, Cllr Bernadette Khan, Adarniya Shri Dr Jagdish Sharma (Chair, Croydon Hindu Council), and Adarniya Shri Nitin Mehta (Animal Ahimsa Movement) to name a few.
With the increasing popularity of this program, organiser and Area Representative Shrimati Mayura Patel has also been able to represent Gayatri Pariwar UK, in the House of Parliament (Diwali 2010), in the House of Lords (Leadership Conference, 2009) and at numerous Inter Faith Events organised in South East of England since 2007. She has successfully launched and delivered a simple to follow "Spirituality for Beginners" course in 2007 based on Param Pujya Gurudev's principles which has been approved by the senior mentors of All World Gayatri Pariwar, Shantikunj, Haridwar.
We strive to take Param Pujya Gurudev's work forward and all members of the Pariwar work in harmony in creating one global family – "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" through yagya programs which are held across the UK.
We worship and live his value – "When we change, the world around us changes ". And hence we try our best to follow his ideal "Simple Living and High Thinking", which can be achieved only through Gayatri Sadhna.
Do join us every year in Croydon to contribute in this noble cause.
