Gayatri Pariwar Oxford has had a dedicated presence in Oxford since 2011. A Gayatri Deep Yagya was held in Oxford on 31st August 2011, and was attended by many families. This was the first event held in Oxford, and this allowed Gayatri Pariwar UK to raise its awareness in another city. It is hopeful that something similar will take place during the Summer of 2014 when the saints from Shantikunj visit the UK (however, this will be confirmed closer to summer).
It is anticipated that a regular fortnightly youth session will commence on Saturdays soon. These sessions will be run to enhance the future generations, and the sessions will entail activities such as; Swadhyaya (reading and discussion of good thoughts), basic yoga and other activities to help awaken the divine qualities within the youths.
The objective is to help the younger generation to develop a higher confidence level, and to assist senior youths increase their intellect and build upon their knowledge about strengths and virtues (Daivy Sampatti), positive emotions (Bhav Samvedana), and positive character traits (Charitra Nirman), and to share and grow collectively on the path of holistic (physical, mental and spiritual) development of all members of their family. The philosophy is very simple, that is, each one of us makes our own destiny, destiny of our family, destiny of our society and destiny of our world. If we become better, the world will become better. When we share our knowledge, skills, talents, etc... the benefit to others is a mere side effect.
